Wilson D. Douglas, III

Founder & Visionary

Wilson D. Douglas, III was the Founder and Pastor of Victorious Living Christian Center (formerly known as Agape Christian Center) in League City, Texas. He was born June 27, 1955 in Gooch Bayou Community of Natchitoches Parish, LA. He was the second of three children born to Wilson D. Douglas, Jr. and Pearlie D. Douglas. His mother and grandparents prepared the children to live a life of righteousness as members of a faith filled family. They could never have dreamed their son, “June”, would be used to bring light into the lives of so many in darkness. His musical gift became evident while singing live on radio and playing the keyboard, accompanied by his brother on guitar. God allowed Pastor Douglas to use his musical gift to write many praise and worship songs about the love of God, victorious and successful living, as well as about the Person of the Holy Spirit.

Wilson met the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann, while serving as the organist for the Joyfulettes. After a year of knowing each other, Wilson and Elizabeth united in holy matrimony on January 24, 1976. To this union on September 20, 1987 was born a beautiful daughter, Ashley Nicole, better known as “Ashycole” to her Father.

God called Pastor Douglas into the ministry in 1982, after two years of building a solid Word foundation in his life. In July of 1986, after returning from a camp-meeting in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Spirit of the Lord spoke these words to Pastor Douglas: “Agape Christian Center – League City, Texas; Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday”. On September 14, 1986, the first service was held at James Ross Elementary School in League City. Pastor Douglas began to teach the principles of faith and lay a foundation of expectancy in the people that gave them hope and victory in a difficult world. In May 1991, God spoke prophetically to Pastor Wilson Douglas concerning the writing of books and the starting of a television ministry. In September 1991, God miraculously enabled Pastor Douglas to begin a local and national television ministry which lasted for eleven years. In 1992, he wrote two books, “Wealth God’s Way” and “Unity from A Black Perspective”. After several temporary locations, the first service was held in the new sanctuary on June 14, 2005. For thirty-three years, Victorious Living Christian Center has participated in outreach ministry to those in prisons, jails, youth detention centers, hospitals, nursing homes, shelters and to those in need of food assistance.

Pastor Wilson David Douglas, III made his transition into the presence of the Lord on November 19, 2018. He entered eternal rest while in the comfort of his home with his loving wife and daughter at his side.
